When your not destroying your psyche with brain smashing Abrasive Industrial noise and Sonic Terror, what do you listen too?
I know you guys don't listen to industrial/noise all the time so when your not what are you listening too?

I listen too:

Lots of Italo/euro Disco, in other words the electronic disco that came after the big boom

Lots of Synthpop Synthpop, from Depeche Mode, To Beborn
Beton, to Soft Cell.

EBM/FuturePop/Terror EBM

Techno especially shranz and Rave

Trance, I like the cheesy commercian anthem stuff

Ambient/New Age/Ethereal (I love Cold Meat ehtereal stuff like Arcana)

Black Metal (not much of it)

Darkwave (Project Pitchfork and Switchblade Symphony are my favorate)

Pop (some old stuff like ABBA)

Classical Music/Neo Classical

Coldwave

I'm sure theres more but I"ve got to take a massive dump, so I'll leave it at that.

First off, I'll admit that I don't listen to a lot of industrial/noise music at all these days.. I make shit like that, but I hardly listen to any of it. Hm.

Anyway, stuff I can usually be found listening to aside from industrial are :

Punk/Hardcore - Stuff like Minor Threat, Buzzcocks, Propagandhi, MDC, A.C.A.B (OMG! Good Malaysian band.. amazing, innit?), GC5, Sex Pistols, Clash

Synthpop (and new wave + related genres) - Yeah, I know, most of it sucks, but I have no taste, so fuck off. Depeche Mode, Duran Duran, The Cure, Soft Cell, Days of Triumph, Devo (!!), Polysics

Metal (mainly death, thrash, black and some heavy) - Yeah. I am TEH METALHEADZOR. Stuff I listen to would include Deicide, Inferno, Mayhem, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Cannibal Corpse, Kataklysm, Metallica, Sodom, Emperor, Burzum, basically good shit.

Grindcore (since it's NOT METAL, they say) - Napalm Death, Anal Cunt, Terrorizer, Agoraphobic Nosebleed

Rock - Yeah, inherited most of this shit from my dad. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple

Digital hardcore (since it's not industrial) - Simply put, the whole D-Trash Records discography. Hell yeah.

Hard electro/dance/whatnot (gabber, mainly) - Nasenbluten

Misc. shit (mixed bag, methinks) - Franz Ferdinand, Bob Marley

Before I listened to metal - a lot of nu-metal (yawn now....), if so only hardcore. Thrash metal on occasion still.

Going more and more away from metal, listen now more to what you call Coldwave or so (7Vials, Violent Works of Art).

I don't ever listen to EBM, synthpop, IDM, etc. - it is too boring for me. I only listen to hardcore techno if at all (gabber, schwanz .... typo intended). I hate all forms of trance etc.....I don't like Po(o)p.

Mostly I really listen to music made by friends of me. It is all experimental to some extent. I exchange a lot of CDs with them. I am surprized that all underground people always come up with big group names when they write posts instead of with names of people who are really good and really creative. So, here my list of names:

Leonardo Taglialavore, Sterile, 7Vials, Violent Works of Art, Viktim, Nax, Nimheil, Pardaig, Ghoul Detail, GDR, Kalishnikov, XDugef, Noah, Federal Bureau of Mindcontrol, GOAP, Sonic Aliens, Maximum Headlessness (the inventer of Dork Industrial or "Dousche Core"), Subcomandante Insurgente, even Lohr's Slayvaxis (I can't believe I am writing this.......), Panzer Division, Rabbit Girls, Rubbish, Daath, Firewerk, Mantra, Ethno-fobia, Hate Star, Fargaust, Brainclaw, Jerry and the Zeros etc etc etc etc.........

I am living the underground I fear...... As an example: Jerry and the Zeros, Consumption Pigs...I like this track http://www.soundclick.com/util/streamM3U...

"Digital hardcore (since it's not industrial)"

You think? I've often heard it refered to as "industrial-punk," for obvious reasons.

hehehe, its funny, the only experience I ever had with digital hardcore is the Noizzze just do it comp, where one of my tracks was included, its quite funny, only Gacky like 2 or 3 other bands were industrial/noise, the rest were digital hardcore, hahah, and I don't even like digital hardcore, that was the first time I really ever heard it, from a comp with me on it, its quite funny.

Lots of lofi and mutant pop (galaxie 500, slint, pavement, the telescopes, etc.) Man I just LOVE the way galaxie 500 can move mountains with a pair of chords and I'm just about in love with the telescopes recent 'winter' EP

noisepop (some call it noisy pop and shoegazing pop the problem is I only like a few bands) my bloody valentine is one of my great references, loop, main, and most other projects K.Shields and R.Hampson made (experimental audio research so on)

Post rock and derived genres (labradford, Pan american, early tortoise, etc.) and early material that inspired them especially Skullflower (probably on my top five ever) and Ramleh

I just love synth ambient and early stuff from Klaus Shultze spends a lot of time on the turntable here and on the same tone I also like minimal d&b / dub from the darkside (scorn) to the bright side

sludgecore, stoner and slow paced pachydermic metal (the melvins of course, neurosis of course, corrupted of course) - most recent discovery is Jesu, not really sludge but definitely pachydermic, in a sweet prehistoric way

grindcore, the music that made me love music and some very early death metal like deceased or the first album of entombed and of course digigrind and freegrind (the boredoms, melt banana, fantomas, ground zero so on)

free jazz (mostly Albert Ayler recently)

contemporary classical music (Risset would me my pick today but...)

ethnic music (tibetan and japanese traditional music these days)

a bit of emo and hardcore but not too much lately and mostly only Fugazi

and lots of other stuff but you're already tired

Well, if industrial suddenly has changed into breakbeat-heavy stuff without my knowledge, then, yeah, industrial-punk it is.

I always thought MSI was an example of industrial-punk.

Until I started being an industrial.org forum regular, of course.

Well, it's mostly the stuff I listened to when I was a kid/growing up. Rock (in its many forms), brit-pop, new wave, gothic/rock, sympho-metal, folk (mostly Celtic, Slavic & Nordic), and classical music.

Well, I absolutely love listening to and performing J.S. Bach. There is just something sublime about his music.

A lot of 20th century avant-garde like Anton von Webern, Luciano Berio, Krzystof Penderecky, Iannis Xenakis and the like.

IDM, glitchcore, etc... stuff like Venetian Snares, Squarepusher, Kid 606

Electronic experimental stuff, Autechre, Matmos

Some punk--Danzig, Slayer

Used to listen to a lot of DRI, but not as much lately

Some DnB, specially Pendulum, Tech Itch

Some house, trance (specially old goa like Juno Reactor)

Juno Reactor is Trance??

It is goa, yes. At least that's what trance should be, not the watered down boring nonsense that you hear nowdays. Like his "El Pistolero" or "Nitrogen". Definitely good stuff ;-)
