Nein!

Very little ISN tracks are martial industrial. Most of their drumming is more reminiscient of Mental Destruction, which isn't martial industrial or "neo-classical" art wankery in the least.

The significant use of symphonic orchestration puts ISN squarely into the neo-classical category. Elektronix (apart from percussion and synth pads) are virtually non-existant here.

Also, their aesthetic is not militant at all, despite the occasional martial beat (which exists only in a minority of their stuff). Their aesthetic is more death industrial/dark ambient.

Well, I agree with ISN not being outwardly martial, I'd sooner say he has a ritualistic aesthetic (and yes, someone has already coined "ritual-industrial") but ya gotta admit that the Laibach influences (which the guy openly admits to) are pretty obvious, shit, I've read reviews where folks call ISN Laibach's worthy successor.

Martial Industrial? *sigh* Remind me to stop frequenting this thread.

exactly.

who in the hell made up that name anyway.

Industrial music has many various styles so in order to differentiate between them all prefixes and suffixes are used.

Thus, industrialized heavy metal is "industrial-metal," metal-bashing is "metal-industrial," old-skool Industrial is "proto-industrial," propulsive hard elektronix is "industrial-dance," industrialized militaristic/marching music is "martial-industrial."

When you actually listen to it "martial-industrial" is a very accurate characterization of the sound.

Sorry Kai, this isn't martial industrial, it's too "techno". More like Powernoise.

Still good though.

No, that definitely isn't martial-industrial, even tho the beat is quite marchy.

Martial-industrial is neo-classical music, meaning it features sounds and (sampled) instrumentation typically associated with large symphonic orchestras, in this case the primary sonic characteristics are epic choirs, thundering horns, thrashy snares, dark strings and heavy timpani/bass drum marching percussion (tho drum-machines are also quite common).

Your track is just way too synthetic to qualify as martial-industrial, there aint a single symphonic element in the entire thing.

Here are a couple of MI trax I've uploaded to better explain what I mean, the first one is by The Protagonist and is all-symphonic (apart from the heavy synth kick), the second one is by Von Thronstahl and is a bit more synthy and processed BUT it still contains enuf sampled sympho elements to qualify as martial-industrial. You'll understand when u hear it. :D

Actually, he edited his post. Originally, it read "Lieben heisst Lieben".
