comment :: OBEY! New RI track.
Even those who usually do not like RI stuff may enjoy this one.

Have the pleasure to listen to the now perhaps harshest RI track:

Hits you right in the face.

Feedback wished for.

Kai

PS: If it is not harsh enough go to the white noise terror track Zerbrochene Knochen - Zerfetztes Fleisch at the bottom of the RI songs page at sounddick.

defiantely used reason. i can hear the drums in it.

personally i think the high end could use some work. like maybe some more high hats or clean crashes. there is lots of middle and low, but no high. pipe hits something.

if it was a reason hardcore hit then try using some of the right side.

the drums could also be panned on two seperate channels. pan one left and one right. too much trying to be crunch into the middle zone. but this is a mastering thing.

during the snare rolls you do nothing with the bass kicks. it makes you yearn for some big distorted boom and there is nothing. just leaves me hanging there.

Haha, you are right - used reason drum set - in Fruity Loops. To the high end - I don't do that anymore in many tracks. I want to growl and be vicious - it is bassline music. The only high end would be my vocals :). Panning, yeah, some panning work I still have to do.

Thanks,

Kai

Listened to the track again after your review - and you are completly right - there should be two or three massive bangs in the snare rolls. In particular at their end. To the panning: I panned the 2 basses out left and right so that the drums hit you in the face with the vocals. Also the snares are panned. I might try some more panning - I think I have no stereo enhancer so far also in the mix. Might try that good old Steinberg tool. Gives tracks a nice feel.

Thanks, good listening and advice, Kai

in reguards to the hi hats or high.
try a hiss or even a noise. like wumpscut did in that once sonce. almost a near siren. it was a solid tone that was super annoying. got the point across. not loud.
just real subtle like. enough to fill that gap.

also try a good ole fashioned break down. like for 2 measures. nothing to dramatic. just a break befor the big onslaught at the end.

also. forgot this in the first one.
LAYER your vocals with chorus. and have multiple tracks of them. give them more punch with out taking up too much headroom

I like the concept. But I have some issues with the mix itself. I think there is too much reverb going on, and too many sounds are barfing on each other causing the individual drum hits to lose definition turning into a wash of sound. Maybe that's what you were going for, which is fine, but I think if you pull back on the reverbs and delays a bit, the track will have more impact overall.

I agree, you definately need to work on the mixing aspect of your tracks. I actually like this track though, its got a lot of punch, I still can't get used to your voice :P.
