Call for Submissions...
Greetings everyone.
I was checking out the web pages on Myspace the other day, and was amazed by the sheer numbers of industrial bands worldwide. The industrial underground is huge it would seem. It was then that I got the idea to make a documentary about industrial music, more specifically, the underground; i.e. the bands, fans, dj's, labels, internet radio, websites, etc. and how it all relates to the worldwide industrial scene at large. A daunting task to say the least, but to save time, and because I don't have the funds to travel the world filming bands etc. the idea is to have the various entities interested in this project to film themselves, however they want, and submit the video to me for editing into the final film. This sounds like I'm not going to be doing much of anything, but trust me, the logistics involved with just cutting different video formats,(PAL,NTSC), will be traumatic enough.
I'll probaly/possibly be able to film people in the Los Angeles area, however. I want to know what the scene is like where you live, what inspires you to create, the impact of technology on what you do, how the internet/cyberspace helps you promote your music and creates community, your worldview, etc., I want to know what makes you tick... Here's my Myspace page, if you'd like to see what I've been up to. The documentary will probaly see limited release, think film festivals and art houses, but DVD's will also be made available. A soundtrack is a possibility as well, but let's cross that bridge when we get to it.
And Moron I'd be pleased to have you submit something on all that you do...
