Ok so yesterday I bought a Carpenters CD (The Carpenters 70s pop group), its nice soft corny love music, then I had an idea, while I was driving home from work I played one Carpenters song, then right after a brighter death now track, then back to Carpenters then to Merzbow, back and forth, and it changed the listening experience of both types of music dramatically, try something like that out one of these days, its great.
