16 Voice Emulator II-grade sampler with basic wave synthesis.

For anyone willing to invest in an older machine, this sampler packs quite a bit of punch for the $$$ you can get it for nowadays. Being a 16 bit sampler, it has a very warm, clean sound that is perfect for analog pads, vocal samples, etc. Despite the tiny LCD display, it is really quite easy to use, particularly for taking your own samples. The LP filters on board are about as fat sounding as you can get with a four-pole digital resonant filter. Indeed, it lends itself well to sub bass and low electronic tones. It includes a 'spectrum synthesis' function which provides basic synthesis from the harmonic structure from a sample. Overall, a great tool for a project studio.

As it IS an older sampler its features can't compete with most newer models'. Only one LP filter, one LFO, and one envelope. It is incapable of sample transfers over SCSI, is only expandable to 8Mb with PROPRIETARY RAM, and it can only pitch bend up to 4 semitones from the original sample.
