it's unfair to compare this unit to real analogs as it is digital, and for the price it goes for, it's really not a bad synth at all. some of the effects are really good and those who are into noisier music would appreciate the noise and spectral waveforms (something like 67 variations in all). for really harsh, biting noise, this thing is amazing. pads are nice too, as are many of the midrange sounds you can pull out of this unit. filter knob steps but filter is smooth when controlled by the envelope. bass and leads are kind of weak but for that stuff, get a real analog. sounds a lot better once it's taken out of the bass-boost mode it leaves the factory in. i personally think it smashes its competitor, the Korg ms2000, to bits.
