It's a DAT. It plays tapes. It works. It's tough to say more about this box. I've used it both live (it works, and sounds good), and in the studio as a mixdown box (reasonably good converters, easy to set up and get rolling with). It does the happy little 'record some text with your song' trick, so you can have your song name scroll by it plays. It also has solid SPDIF support. If you're looking for a DAT, because you need to support the format for studio use or want a skipless reliable media for live shows, this is probably the low cost workhorse you're looking for.
