1 pram. 1 high end car amplifier of indterminate wattage. 4 small front end speakers. 1 sub. 1 crossover. 1 power inverter. 1 deep cycle car battery. 1 briefcase full of pedals. 1 mixer. 4 drunk idiots.
Fuckload of fun.
These pics were taken on Saturday, July 22, 2006 just off of Dallas Road in Victoria, BC literally within spitting distance of the ocean. The "audience" was comprised of random passers, some of which setup a beach fire about 10 meters from where we setup down the stairwell.
If it was daylight you would see the ocean off and down from the rails (the bottom of the stairs is the sand of the beach).
A collaboration between griefer and tecnet, me on the pedal array and Dave on Watchman and minicassette deck.
People had to squish by us single file to get down the stairs, which was quite blasting loud due to the natural baffle of the inset. We made noise for between 1 1/2 and 2 hours before the police came by and told us to move along. We had an audience at the top of the turret and nearby at a beach fire for pretty much the entirety. The last shot shows who was on the turret - we know none of those people, he he. Sonically, a mix of power electronics and harsh ambient / noise type stuff. At one point we were told we sounded like someone's "acid flashback" as well as "science fiction".
This was a proof of concept which went about as awesome as a thing like this can go. Pics taken by Soma and Dave. Moron is playing the suitcase, Adam provided (in)security. Dave man gets 100% credit for putting together the kick ass sound system and pimpin pram setup, without him this would not have happened. Hail Tecnet.
Next one happens on August 5th. Email me for details.
