Jugalbandi is comprised of Greg Segal and Hyam R. Sosnow, both of whom I believe have been doing improv for longer than I've been alive. It definitely shows, as "Night Crazy" is a really good slab of free jazz rock that flows smoother than blood dripping from a fresh gunshot wound.

There is so much stuff going in this record, its insane. One minute you're listening to spanish guitar and jazzy cymbal crashing and the next you're listening to dark ambient sweeps and tape cut ups with tribal rhythms, then full on rock with sabbath style riffs and thrashy drums and then more experimental stuff and so on and so forth. The really amazing thing about this record is the fact that it all works; Greg and Hyam are able to move through genres with such ease and ardor that it never seems forced or awkwardly out of place. You simply don't have time to get bored, the grooves just suck you in and you're hypnotized because it all comes together so well, its all so natural, Its really amazing. Though it may seem weird, the more experimental stuff and the more conventional rock and jazz sounds go hand in hand on this record perfectly. I'm more or less repeating myself, but I just cant help but stress the importance of the flow here .

"Night Crazy" may take a bit of getting used to, but once this sucker gets under your skin, it ain't coming out. Highly recommended.
