Another caseless, informationless disc from the oh so thoughtful folks at Fiend Recordings. The filthy culpits this time around are The Prestidigitators. The music here is a pretty generic slew of mostly low end/midrange harsh noise, spanning a total of 22 minutes. It begins with the obligatory 30 seconds of silence and then blasts into the familiar rumble and hiss. There is a lot of energy at work here, but it's just so by the book, with out of place tape edits and everything. There aren't any sounds here that make me drop my jaw and cause my ears drip with envy. Nothing that really makes me itch for more. I want to stress though, this disc suffers from the 'I've heard this a million times before" syndrome, not the painfully common "this is a complete waste of time" disease. There are definitely some good moments here (the high end tones are usually pretty nice, track 4 has some really cool excessive tremolo action, some interesting tones here and there.) but as a whole, it's just a bit too standard to really get under your skin.
