site changes for 2010

Howdy folks. industrial.org will be going through some changes this coming year and here is a heads up.
The first change is related to the fact that as of January 1st, I will need to pay for my hosting costs. To keep that manageable, I am going to remove the MP3 section (which has proven mostly off-topic anyway). There are plenty of free alternatives so I do not see that as a problem. I will back it up first so if you have something you need from it, drop me a note.
The second change will be codebase related and will happen in stages. I will be revamping the extremly dated forum to something more useful, most likely followed by the calendar system. If you have a feature that you want to see here, let me know as I will be in the codebase actively for the next few months.

Feedback Loop Netlabel exists now. yay.

The folks at the feedback loop netlabel want people to know that they exist.
They sent me a kind of incoherent email about their new label that had pretty much no relevant content relating to their material, but they have some nice dark ambient tunes on there, so I decided to mention that they do, in fact, exist.

Check them out at:

Add your own Press Release. Or else!!

Hey Folks. I just wanted to remind everyone that anyone can add their own press release to the site. You just need to register an account, go to articles, and click the "add entry" button next to where it says "press release", and poof!, it's there!

The site has changed a lot in the last year, as neither Moron or myself have had the time to post the frequent news updates that were once the staple of the main page. But the main page has been re-designed, so now you really have an even playing field for your press release.

Hopefully sometime in the future we'll be able to post news on a more frequent basis, but for now, please post your own stuff, as we don't have the time right now.

Remember...

YOU ARE INDUSTRIAL.ORG All it has is what you feed it...

Stealing Gear is lame, dude....

A few nights ago some douchebags stole a bunch of gear from Raglani and Steve Hauschildt, right after they had played the No Fun Fest in New York City.

A lot of rare, awesomely cool gear was stolen from both bands, and a donation relief fund has been set up by Kvist Records to help out both bands:

http://kvistrecords.com/2009/05/18/breaking-news-raglanis-gear-stolen-at-no-fun-fest-donations-accepted/

Also, read more about it here:
http://chondriticsound.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=27458

Remember kids, stealing gear is fucking lame...... If you can spare some dough, help these noise brothas out...

That's a lot of Ramirez, Richard!

Texas based noise legend Richard Ramirez has a shitload of stuff going on right now, the first of which is a new cd entitled "Identity Amnesia".

It's apparently 3 tracks of "harsh noise dynamics", most likely in his signature wall of noise style, though I wouldn't know as I haven't heard the beast, though the cover is wicked cool. This is a limited Japanese import deal, so if you want it, you better send some of your greasy dinero to deadlinerecordings@hotmail.com fast.

Mr. Ramirez also has a brand spanking new cd from his (awesomely named) project Werewolf Jerusalem out on Breathing Problem Productions called "THE FLIES OF OUR TRAGIC DEAR". You can snag that badboy here:
http://www.breathingproblemproductions.blogspot.com/

Lastly, there have also been some lineup changes to the Ramirez project Black Leather Jesus (which is also a really cool band name), of which you can read about here:

http://chondriticsound.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=24310

Whew. That is one productive noisy Texan. And though it doesn't matter, I'd like to state for the record, I was being serious about loving his band names. While I may not dig all of the stuff he does, the man deserves props for having a killer fucking aesthetic!

ehafh's butchre sleeve

The fiends over at dramacore have a new offering of free sonic goodness in the form of a new ep from butchre sleeve entitled "by any means". It's four tracks of powernoise/ breakbeat/ 8 bit stuff that I personally think is pretty damn cool.

It's totally fucking free to boot: http://www.dramacore.com/info/74.htm

In somewhat related news, the very cool dude behind dramacore, Ehafh, just so happens to have a new free release of his own out at Glitch City entitled "unless you're busy stepping on bugs ". Point your clicky to:

industrial.org status update

Howdy. As you may have noticed, the site has been uber slow with news updates for a while now which reflects my lack of free time. industrial.org is definitely not dead but the plan is to update the codebase to focus on the more useful components.

First, a new "tour booking" application is in the works which besides making organizing a tour a lot simpler, will also include hooks into the event calendar to help with the data entry aspect. Once those two are in place, next on the list will likely be the playlist system. In any case, if you would like to try out the tour booking application once it goes alpha, drop me a note.

Because bands with impossible to pronounce names rule.

German electro neofolk types QNTAL are celebrating their almost two decade long career with the release of "Purpurea – The Best Of". The album apparently features 2 discs of material spanning the band's 6 album catalog (6 albums in 18 years? These folks need to stop taking lithium..)

The album doesn't come out until Halloween,
But they Germans want you to know about it, so, now you know. I'm assuming you'll be able to follow this on their site: http://www.qntal.net/

Lead is more effective.

Canadian EBM staple Ayria wants you to know that you can now Pre-order her new cd, entitled "Hearts For Bullets". The cd hits the streets on September 12, but she apparently is hard up for cash and wants you to buy it NOW!

Not much is said about the album, other than the fact that you can get it in three different packages, but it is apparently "hard hitting" and "tightly written" and "well produced" ( which to me sounds like Ayria needs to fire her press people and get someone who can fucking write.)

lusty and glorious

Leather pants loving Chicago label BloodLust! is going to need a trip to the dry cleaners after their latest release from Ugly American Slogun entitled "The Glory Of Murder". The disc is the sixth iteration of the "History of Violence" re-issue series with the source material being a 1998 cassette released on long dead and gone Italian label Soffitta Macabra. Jerome Nougaillon has taken care of re-mastering duties (blood from a stone and all that) with John Balistreri's throwing in for graphics chops. You get 13 tracks total for the entrance fee ($14US - $18US depending on how far you live from Happy Jesus Land) and for the label is also up for wholesale orders if you are so inclined. For more details or to suggest a good leather cleaner hassle bludlust@mindspring.com.

japaklang

Elusive Austrians Steinklang Industries are back in a big way with no less than 4 new releases spewing forth. The first is a biggun, an ode to the Japan noise scene called "Japanoise of Death II". Like the name suggests, this is the second iteration of the regional noise compilation and features notables like Guilty Connector, Dissecting Table, Incapactiants and a wack more of both grizzled and fresh faces. Making things more interesting is a special laser etched metal box edition which combines both editions of the comp (the original was only available as a limited vinyl or CDR). Keeping with the Nipon theme, we then have HIROSHI HASEGAWA's "Ascension No.999". This one is a CD with a run of 500 that combines "experimental cut-up noise, over droning sound-walls" with "screaming high frequency manipulations" during its 50 minutes. If that doesn't do it for you (or you still have cash left) "Rotten sarkoma" is the title of CDR from SCRELOMA which combines two of the best things in this mean old world: "harsh noises and heavy Power Electronics". You can expect "concrete or sublime rhythms" recorded in analogue with a runtime of 61 min. Finally, a week from now seminal release hog Dissecting Table gets yet another notch in his belt with "Early studio works 1986/87", a CD collating earlier material from his first LP and 7" plus 5 previously unreleased tracks. The disc comes wrapped in an A3 sized poster and lands on April 17. MP3s have been posted for these releases so suck up some bandwidth already. You can order all of this schwag direct from the label and for more details (except gig contacts in Austria, don't waste your time) hassle info@steinklang-records.at.

does this look infected to you?

True school Czech export Einleitungszeit has made it out of the bunker alive to brandish about his latest full length disc entitled "DIE INFEKTION DER GEBURT". This new recording clocks in with 68 minutes spread over 10 tracks and gets strewn with adjective heavy phrases like "industrial amplitudes of pulse noise" not to mention "subliminal vibrations of thundering 'hallucinatory ambient'" which really aren't that far off the mark. The artist calls the approach used on the disc "clinical leitmotiv" which means re-occuring cases of "full sound texture and psychoactive atmosphere" and from the copy I picked up in Prague, I concur. The disc comes in a snazzy black and silver digipak and should be available now from the usual suspects like Malignant Records and Cold Spring amongst others. For more details send some repeating phrases to einleitungszeit@yahoo.com.

breath play

Transylvanian label Mirgilus Siculorum Records has pulled their bloody hands away from the next issue of "Cross Of Black Steel" to announce a pair of new recordings, the first coming from German act Flutwacht and entitled "Breath". Not a lot of detail is given other than it being "highly recommended for PE/Noise/Experimental maniacs" (along with suitable medication or at least a getaway vehicle). This co-(self)release with The Tourette Tapes has a total run of 500, comes in a DVD case and will hurt you to the tune of 12&. Second in line is a 3 way collaboration run under the moniker S.S. ELECTRONICS which combines the noisy efforts of Geoff Markoff, Ella
Einsmire and US based seminal ear abuser Richard Ramirez. "Elsa Fraulein S.S." is a CDR release providing a combination of power electronics and harsh noise packed in a DVD case and with a total run of 60. Damage for this one is 7&. You can snag these direct from the label and for more details or to succumb to the blackness hassle mirgilus@mirgilus.com.

never mind the BSTRDS

Nether(lands) region label Dead Mind Records is mix and matching formats with two different kinds of plastic up for consumption. The first is a split CDR release between the tinfoil and plastic wrap loving Odal and Zyrtrax simply entitled "Vs". The 9 pieces here are apparently the result of a sleepover (sadly no flannel jammies) and you can expect "industrial noise" comprised of "layers of feedback, distortion and looped analog synths". The second man made material is in the form of a 7" bit of vinyl pitting seminal shit disturbers The Haters against the equally awesome EU freaks FCKN' BSTRDS. This example of "transatlantic noise terrorism" was 7 years in the making and will leave you fulfilled thanks to "total destruction on both sides". The first 25 copies snagged will get a special handmade sleeve so hop on that if you want one. To get your hands on either / both releases hassle the bejesus out of controlvschaos@hotmail.com.

bunch of pricks

US based art fiend and noise maker Ov Korpse is back on the obsessively packaged release warpath with a slick new boxset entitled "Army Death Thorn (Once upon a Time in France)". This fourth iteration in the "Army Death" series features no less than eight C60 tapes crammed with Ov Korpse's signature thronging and rhythmics. The box itself is decorated with a Jerusalem sourced wooden cross as well as 50 glued thorns and comes with 8 inserts as well as a certificate of authenticity for the cross. Getting your greedy hands on one of the 22 available copies will set you back $58US plus postage (a steal really considering the obsessive attention to detail) and some example tracks have been posted to get you reaching with your wallet hand. For more information or to offer your consolences for his OCD hassle ovkorpse@yahoo.com.
